Why Raw Food Diet is Ideal for Your Pet Dog

The goal of giving your dog raw food is to make him capable of obtaining plenty of nutrients in an easy-to-digest manner, one that their bodies are naturally suited for. One of the main reasons that processed pet food is believed to be non-beneficial for a dog, and the hypothesis on which a raw food dog diet is based upon, goes back to how the dog has evolved.

Processed pet foods are unnatural, and certainly not the type of thing your dog would have eaten in the wild. For a start, processed dog food is cooked, and cooking food damages some of the valuable ‘live’ enzymes found in raw food diets for dogs.

Though some pet owners are skeptical about raw food for dogs, they need not worry. This type of diet has been proven to be better for dogs because it is more suited to their system and most dogs have no problem digesting raw bones and pathogens. Dogs are descents of wolves and in the wild wolves hunt other animals and eat only meat, usually from a fresh kill. In fact, they would have naturally eaten these foods under other circumstances.

Raw dog food checklist-

  • Organ meats such as kidneys and livers
  • Raw eggs
  • Muscle meat, most often still on the bone
  • Yogurt, cottage cheese, (Oils) flax seed, coconut, extra virgin olive and salmon oil.

Raw food diets have been found to help the body of your dog deal with common ailments such as flea infestations, allergies, immune disorders, continual shedding and much more. The kind of diet that you present to your dog and the healthy foods that you give to your dog will create a long-lived life.

Feeding your dog raw means having to shop in advance and prepare food in advance. You can easily freeze them in batches, but don’t forget to make sure that you always have a bag thawing in the refrigerator for the next feeding. This means that you’ll have to be a bit more organized with your time. By providing healthy food, it will help your dog build immunity, heal quicker from illness and overall just become a healthy canine.
